starter/solenoid issue???

Post by [email protected] »

When i try to start 1150r it sounds like a small hammer tapping near starter. Sounds like a low battery, but battery tender is green. whats next?

Cant go by what the battery tender says
It just knows it aplied the proper voltage to the battery and then shut off
Put a volt meter on the stater battery positve and the Ground and see what voltage you have when cranking

Ditto that.

Starter solenoid clicking - battery, insufficient juice.

Agree with the guys. New battery in your future. Strongly recommend Odyssey PC680.

What do you remove to keep the bike from starting when you are testing as it is cranking over?

^ I don't know if this is the proper way or if there's a better choice, but the bike won't start with the side stand down...right?

When you're testing what exactly? You can remove spark plugs (ground them to frame to allow spark discharge). You can disable fueling by disconnecting injector electrical connector.
