Adios & Vaya con Dios!

Post by JohnM »

After 5 years and 31K, I sold my`09 R12R baby yesterday to fellow Forum member Laura Blake.

It wasn't a particularly hard decision. In the past two years, several medical issues have crept in. The worst was arthritis in my neck & knees, which tends to hamper your ability to comfortably ride.

As member Don E told me years back, the R12R is the perfect ride. (Well, mostly!) She took me to all sorts of adventures to Nova Scotia, New England, the MidWest, da South, NOLA, the Barber, Memphis, BikeWeek, and Key West.

Unfortunately, she also had a hissey-fit on a ride back to NJ in `14, and blew her rear drive. (Yep, the R12Rs can do that!)

Still, the finest riding I've ever done on two wheels.

Be safe out there!

Sorry to hear that John, but I knew it was for-sale. The Nova Scotia trip was really a fun one. Almost perfect weather which is somewhat unusual for New England and Nova Scotia.

The R12R is the perfect ride - probably why there are 2 of them in my garage right now.. but one (the 2007) is for sale as of now. I'll be listing it on the For-Sale forum. It's been replaced by a no-miles 2012 that was originally Cy Young's (hi Cy!) wife's, then came down to NJ when a new rider needed a bike, and then was suddenly for sale again when he decided he needed a new LC-R1200GS (he broke my rule - never ride a bike you don't intend to buy..)

Hope to see you around John..

Good luck John.

Anyone know of anyone that the Can Am Snyder has extended riding years?

(just planning ahead)

A friend of my dads rode his until he was past 70. He had a few surgeries, and wasn't in the greatest health, so the Spyder worked great for him.
