Not sure, but it might be a direct fit. Check part numbers for both models in the microfiche at Max's or Bob's BMW websites. I've talked to the folks at Bob's on the phone in the past and they were really helpful.

You might also check some of the aftermarket systems and see if the same product fits across the R1200X family in your model year window.

Good luck!

Rusted? Doubtful since under the chrome is stainless.. discolored? Entirely possible - but the stainless ones also discolor to a poop-brown color instead of the blue that the chrome ones turn. Single wall pipes tend to do that.

Yes stainless goes brown mine is chrome. the front of the pipe is blue that's no problem .if the pipe is stainless under the chrome then it must be the chrome that is rusting .
I shall have to cross reference the aftermarket ones to check. The bmw no. Are different gs ends with 03 and 04 .mine ends with 05, 06.thanks for the quick response.

Chrome is copper, nickel and then a transparent layer of chromium. Just went and checked mine (chrome) - the header is non-magnetic so it is stainless. Puzzled, nothing there to "rust".. what does it look like? Any chance of a photo?
