Garmin Tire Pressure Monitoring

Post by nephets »

Hi,
Happy New Year everyone.

My 2007 R1200R got a new Garmin GPS (395LM) for Christmas (well, you have to treat them too!). Among all its other wizzo features is a TMPS. Garmin's system uses a replacement valve cap. As the front wheel valve is horizontal I'm wondering if there is enough space to mount it, or whether it will foul on the brake caliper? The overall length of the cap is 0.86" but that includes the portion which screws onto the valve. Has anyone any experience of using the Garmin TPMS and will their system work on an R1200R?

Thanks,

Steve.

I know this is delayed, but did you give it a try? I have no experience with garmins tpms, but am curious how they worked. Kind of interested in updating my nav system.

Hi Everyone,
I'm pleased to report that the Garmin TPMS system works fine on the 2007 R1200R. No issues linking the valve caps with the zumo 395. And the caps do not foul the brake caliper.

Cheers.

Steve.
