Overhauling Shocks

Post by smutny »

I've put about 30,000 on my bike in the last three years, and I doubt highly that the previous owners did any shock maintenance, so I figure it's time.

New shocks are shockingly high priced. Sending them out for rebuild is not far behind.

Seen a couple YouTube videos, doesn't look like rocket science.

Anybody here do their own?

I have not. I have worked on hydraulic/pneumatic suspension systems on aircraft and in industrial assembly line work but wouldn't want to tackle a "non-rebuildable" shock. There is a place that I heard does rebuild the stock units, but I haven't contacted them yet. Try Lindeman Engineering in the USA at 408-371-6151
