BMW Radio

Post by WhiteDog »

Learned something new today about the BMW radio. Even though it is not the most powerful system, I found out that if you disconnect power to the radio, it will cease to function. I pulled the fuse today to test it and it blanked the radio. Even talked with BMW service about repair options/replacement. Then, I remembered seeing the removal tools and some paperwork in my storage compartment and, following the instructions, re-entered the security code and the radio began functioning just like before. Didn't even lose my programmed stations. That saved me multiple hundreds. HAPPEE!

Do any of you radio techies know of a stereo I can install and be able to use handlebar controls to change stations, volume, etc? I'm somewhat limited with the BMW system--just have channels and volume up or down.
