New R1200S

Post by omg1010 »

Good morning folks,

some of you will recall me having been active here about the R1100R model which I still own. However I had put my hands on a wonderful R1200S in Palermo/Italy which had lately arrived by truck. Obviously some modding was required  to bring the bike to my taste.

Basically I changed the valve heads to powder-coated black, mufflers from italian company HPE and exhaust from the italian company ZARD. Also a slightly elevated windscreen. Also I installed front turnsignals in black/smoke and mini-turnsignals rear.

Hope you like it.

Best regards from Germany.

Oliver-

That's a nice dyno chart for the S. Assuming the performance was measured after the modifications?

So how do you choose between two excellent motorcycles?!

Mornin Mark,

the dyno chart shows before and after (the reprogramming of the ECU). Just by re-programming the gain was about 10 HP and 5 NM of torque. Bike runs fine and smooth as silk. Its a huge difference over the 1100R (which I still love though and I think I'll keep her ...). The choice is easy, once I am on my own (most of the time) = 1200S, once my financial controller decides to join = R1100R ...

Good looking bike. BMW have made some very stylish boxers in the past that somehow seem to be lacking from their current production.
