Gas spill on bike

Post by rich1kim »

Hey guys, just had gasoline sprayed all over my bike by a gas attendant. I exchanged a few unpleasantries with the guy. I told him I would pump the gas, but he insisted that he had to do it. Is this true in New Jersey? By the way it's below freezing and I don't think I can wash the bike right now. Any possible damage to the plastics? There was so much gas the pavement was wet about 5' around the bike.

Thanks for looking

Oregon has the same rules about not allowing customers to pump gas. However, here motorcycles are exempt. Would guess NJ is the same. Local club should be able to tell you.

I do like the law. Allows teenagers to work somewhere besides a McJob!

Think you need to wash the bike no matter what.

I always pump my own gas regardless of the which state I am in.
Find another gas station................preferably one without those pesky vapor recovery bellows on the nozzle.

Must be something wrong there Duckman, I know USA gallons are smaller than eu but not that much smaller. I get 44mpg local hooning and 47 cruising 75-80 stock bike.
