Torque values for engine bolt.

Post by rich1kim »

Hi again, was wondering if anyone can give me a clue as to what the torque values were for the engine bolts. I just received the swmotech crash guards for the f800gs, but the online salesman didn't want to tell me what the torque values should be. He said look at your manuel or ask the dealer. The dealer said bring the bike in (not going to happen for installing something so simple). I ordered the service manual last week, but it's not here yet and i've got nothing to do tonight...

Sorry, foolish request. "Recommended values were on the instruction sheet". Just to be sure, I dialed the torque values down a notch, used blue locktite, and marked the bolts with a permanent marker. No movement. Excellent. I even dropped the bike on both sides within days of each other the day after I installed the crash bars. THEY WORK! Imagine that..
