<next track bike> has been in my profile signature since selling beloved Buell XB 4 or 5 years ago. But no longer.

Just rode home on S1000R, the next and probably final sports-bike/track-bike for yours truly. I cannot imagine needing or wanting anything more... it's all the things the R1150R Rockster is not, and vice versa.

The S is brilliant. Shreds mountain roads, and that's while still in Rain mode until the 600 mile service. Machine is much more capable than my riding skills.

beauty.

I sat on, but did not ride one at the dealer a few weeks ago. Agree on the "capable" statrment. It felt like a race bike. Small and light....no frills Sort of felt like bar risers, a softer seat and a flyscreen it would be more my comfort zone. Oh, and 50 less horsepower/3000 less rpm. haha

ENJOY!

350 miles on the S today, now ready for 600 mile service.
The Rockster's role as road trip bike is safe for now.

Ironic to see this old thread reanimated, as I've started considering sale of the S1000R. Absolutely no complaints - it's an amazing machine and beyond my skills when switched WFO into Dynamic Pro. One notch back, Dynamic offers full engine output but has saved my bacon plenty of times with "still monitoring looniness" Traction Control and ASC (Pro mode drops those items intervention to lowest levels, while allowing all the wheelies and stoppies a youngish hooligan could want).

No, it's the last sporty bike I could ever want, but I just don't get time to ride it enough. Note: I didn't use the phrase "... I just don't get enough time to ride it," thinking that the nuance might be understood by some here with multiple motorcycles.
