Ordering new "R" on Thursday

Post by Eagle6 »

Swapping '14 GS TE for new "R Exclusive" and hoping for delivery before Christmas 8)

There are a couple of bits on the GS that I think will move over onto the R and if anyone can confirm that would be a great help.
First is a set of Rox Risers which I believe are the same bar diameter on the GS-LC and R-LC (32mm).
Second is a set of SW-Motech engine bars which look identical when looking at the pdf fitting instructions for both bikes.

The Givi screen off my old '12 R1200R will fit with just a new mounting kit as it's the same for both old and new R's. I'll also get a Mudslinger as they are so much better than a hugger for keeping the back of the bike cleaner. The only other piece of kit I'll need are a pair of handguards. Not sure which make to go for. Any suggestions?

TIA

Congrats... what color? post some pics when you get the time. the mods you are making are pretty new to the R world. it will be a good reference for others when you report how they worked out. some folks like the barkbuster handguards made in Australia. (http://www.barkbusters.net)
What're you rebelling against, Johnny?

I believe the colour is called "Thunder Grey"

Barkbusters are good guards but I've decided on OEM GS LC guards with the transparent Givi extensions from my GS. Got an as new set last night on Ebay for £35 (45$)

The Rox risers are going to be a fiddle to fit as the clutch line has to be re-routed to allow enough turning clearance.

Picked it up this morning and after 75 miles home on sh*tty roads it's washed off and now has a Puig sport screen and GS hand guards.
