Northern PA is too far to travel for 2 days for me. I'll wait for something closer. Sounds fun though.

Any camping nearby? I am not cheap, just may not be able to commit till it is too late to get a bed.

Jeez...how does she come up with those pictures?

I could come up with the picture, but I'd be a week late

Scotty et al --
Would really like to come but this is too far in the future for for my feeble brain to picture let alone commit to. Count me in as definite maybe.
Now to the beer question, some of the best beer in the country comes from these guys, just down the road in Harrisburg: http://www.troegs.com/.
Putting away a 1/2 keg of their Hopback Amber is a truly worthy goal.

yeah, troegs is great. many great micros in pa.

i'm calling back a motel that's in town. probably suit the budgets around here better too. many of the b/bs around this area are fancy. pride themslelves on unique decor, etc. also, we're competing with fly fishing season, so i'm finding some have a few rooms booked already.

will report back soon!

would you all mind a nice motel? there are a few around the area.

the challenge i'm facing is the cost of the single rooms. Many rooms in the area go for $70 or more per night. Since many of you want singles, that puts the weekend price much higher than W.VA. but then again, this ain't w.Va.

also, since there are alot of fishing tourneys in penn during may, would the group want to consider mid june?

sound off.

Yes to fishing tourneys.

Speaking of micro breweries.............

At the Arkansas ride in Autumn, there are wineries and micro breweries just 10 miles from the motel. And the rates for the motel are incredibly low. It would be further than a tank of gas for you though, Scotty.

Man, I would love to do a bash. Mid-may is a definite no-go.

Mid-June might make it possible. Maybe even such that I could make a committment. No, nothing's ever gonna make that happen, except a lottery win (and I don't play).

Disregard me, please

MLW & I are in (she doesn't know it yet though). I read the first & last pages; (my connection 'here' is very slow); is there a room left for us?

Thanks,

DLS

June Bash

Post by mcooperstein »

Sooooo... what do some of the other bash people think about moving it to June instead of May? I personally like the idea!!!! Chime in people, let your voice be heard before a decision gets made (which needs to be made pretty soon...)!!

Regards,
Mark

Middle of June is up in the air for me. My kid will be flying home from school one of those weekends. As of today, May is better.

May is easier to fully commit to for me, since work seems to be a little slower than it is in June.

it will be what it will be. i was only looking for warmer weather and avoiding fishing tourneys. i'm not worried, the almanac states fair weather over the past few years in may.
