Hungry Mother Aug 17-19

Post by MikeCam »

One week until Loop C receives its annual influx of miscreants.

Those who have been there (and those from this year's Bash) know the deal. Time to give us an idea of who will actually attend.

First time attendees: I81, Marion Virginia, take VA Hwy 16 North 3 miles, Hungry Mother State Park, Campground C (back of park). Paypal $40 to me (PM for Paypal address).

You get choice of 11 campsites and rides led by none other than Dyskzd on "SECRET" roads! Breakfast at Appletree Restaurant Saturday. Bring camping gear or stay local (three motels and a state prison to choose from).

Check in so we have a glimpse of numbers...

I'm in.

Mike, Is there a grill in Campground C? I figured that could be a better option than trying to get spaghetti.

Sorry to report guys, I won't be able to make this one. I will be in Los Angeles that weekend from Thursday on. But I will be thinking about you.

I already have my kitchen pass (they seem to be easier to get...I think she's up to something....). I'm in for the weekend, and I'm thinking about going a day early...maybe.

Mmmmm...Spaghetti. Can we plan on going to that Italian place again? Mike? 8)

:smt009 I will miss the HM weekend for the first time due to Father duties. Freshman move-in day the 18th and I will be needed for manual labor and to console Mother as the youngest leaves the nest!

Unless anyone will be there Thursday night! Then I might pop over the mountain, meander homeward Friday and be ready to do my duties Saturday! Anyone going Thursday night?

Thinking about it, but not sure yet. I'll let you know. I may be changing jobs again and may have to 'burn' some leave.

Vann, I could probably meet you there Thursday evening and we could snag that 11th site. We could then ride on Friday. I got a goat path I wanna show you.

Goat path?! Cool! The last one was great! I want to do the last one again but film it with my new camera this time! From the spot you can see the road switchback 4 times! :D

If you guys can be there Thursday, I might be able to salvage part to the weekend!

Come on! It's not called a rain ride for nothing! We expect bad weather. The mid-atlantic states have been in a serious drought situation. We're going to put an end to it too. Next weekend.

Bring it on!

All,

As a homework assignment, watch (or read) One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

My buddy Alex may be coming. But. He sold his K1200GT yesterday morning. Yesterday afternoon, he bought (I should say stole) a Honda Superhawk (VTR1000). I don't think he'll be camping with us, but most likely 'hotel' camping.

As some of you know, work issues have now struck down the chance for me to even showing up Thursday night and leaving Friday. I am bummed!

Have a good time. I will miss being there. :(
