October - Last Chance Rally - South Jersey.

Post by sjbmw »

Those looking for a final fling in October check out the Last Chance Rally, a joint effort of the New Sweden and NJ Shore riders BMW clubs. New facility this year!

October 5-7th 2007

It will be at Appel Farm, in South Jersey, those who are folk music fans may know the place, as their folk/art festivals are decades old. The summer day campers will be back in school, and the site is ours for the weekend!

Leave the tent home, as the facilty has heated bunkhouses (carpeted!) that each have their own facilities, and can house up to 16 persons each, but the rally brass have advised me they are going to spread everyone out.

When I first read about this I thought how much I'd like to be retired now so I could just ride up there to this rally. It looks like something I'd really like to attend.
Make sure, whoever goes, to take some photos for us.

Mr. Weather is calling for fantastic skies!
Low 80's in the day, mid 60's at night. No rain until Monday!

I will report for duty Friday afternoon as a volunteer.

Boxer, please come.
I found a unopened bottle of Dewar's hiding in my cabinet (shhhhh...don't tell anyone.)

Just noticed this.
Stopped going to this rally a few years ago. The old site and the location just didn't do it for me although the people putting on the rally were, and still are a great bunch of people.
I figured I'd try the new location and it worked out very well, I'll go back again next year.
Seeing how it was fairly close, and I didn't need camping gear, I left the R1200 home and dusted off the old bike. Got a mention as the oldest bike -- strange 1971 doesn't seem that far away for me how could my /5 possibly be OLD. And seeing that I was riding for almost a decade when the /5 came out what does that make me.
