Last Chance Rally - Sept 08 - NJ

Post by sjbmw »

The New Sweden BMW Riders Club is hosting our 26th Annual Last Chance
Rally, Wings and Wheels on September 19, 20, and 21. The location
once again is Appel Farm and Convention Center in Elmer, New Jersey.
This is the same venue we used last year and received numerous
positive comments from our previous rally attendees. There are ample
dorm buildings that are configured to house 8 to 10 people in each
room. Each dorm room has its own clean, modern shower and lavatory
facilities. Some dorm rooms are carpeted. All are heated. You don't
have to bring your tent. Just bring a sleeping bag or bedding and put
them on the bunk beds in the dorm rooms. Also noteworthy is the
dining hall which is spacious, modern, and air conditioned. See more
information about Appel Farm and Convention Center at:

http://www.appelfarm.org/

Once again this year's rally will offer a chili dinner Friday night.
Saturday's activities will include a morning GS ride, afternoon field
events, all the usual awards, numerous door prizes, and a sumptuous
banquet dinner. There is also a continental breakfast available
Saturday and Sunday morning along with a bottomless coffee pot. Lunch
and snacks will also be available for purchase.

Coincident with our rally this year, New Jersey Motorsports Park is
running a Wheels and Warbirds airshow vintage sports car races
Saturday in nearby Millville. Scheduled to appear in both static and
in-the-air displays are numerous historic aircraft from World War II.
There will also be vintage SCCA sports car races at the newly
constructed road racing circuit. The advertised price for this event
is only $20. More info about the Wheels and Warbirds show can be
found at:

http://www.njmotorsportspark.com/events.html

The rally fee this year is the same as last year. For those who
pre-register, the fee is $65 which includes two nights of indoor
accommodations, a rally theme zipper pull, a rally theme T-shirt,
Friday chili dinner, Saturday continental breakfast, Saturday's events
(airshow extra), evening campfires (conditions permitting), Saturday
banquet dinner, door prizes, awards, and Sunday continental breakfast.
If you want to bring a tent there will be shower and lavatory
facilities set aside for your use. The fee payable at the gate is $70
and does not include the zipper pull or T-shirt. Pre-register early!
For more information about rally fees and a pre-registration form you
can print and mail see our rally website at:

Elmer is located in the middle of beautiful southern New Jersey farm
country. There are lots of two lane roads and no housing
developments, shopping malls, or traffic. And New Jersey has some of
the cheapest gasoline prices in the northeast. Make your plans now to
attend and pre-register before September 3, 2008.

Route sheets will be printed that give directions from the Last Chance rally site to NJ Motorsports Park (both a fast route and a scenic route). The track is maybe a half hour from the rally.
