Have not heard from anyone about this year. DuckDave has other plans. Anyone can stand up and if I must I will try. I know there is a motorcycle only motel in Eureka Springs that seem pretty cool.

Fall Roadster Bash moved to Potosi, MO with the Falling Leaf Rally
Who would have thought at least one other member would want to see the Fall mini-Bash go into year 3? Heck, yes, I'd love to do it again.

You know, I've been going to the Helena Blues Festival (formerly King Biscuit Flower Hour Blues Festival) for the past 15-20 years (missing only an occasional year---like last year). But you also should know, I'd rather hang with you guys (and gals) and ride than about anything. So I'm IN, if anyone else is.

OU812---we could always ride over to the Blues Festival...

[edit] the Fall Roadster Bash has moved to Potosi, MO, in conjunction with the Falling Leaf Rally (October 9-11). Read on for more info, and links. Hope to see you there.

I may be, but work may step on it.

I am off starting the 12th, possibly could haul it up there by late 10Th or 11th?? but it would be a stretch.

I am going to be there in mid Sept I think for a few days.

Planning a Ky Ohio ride for later. So many places to ride, so little time

How about this place? Price is right! I checked and the dates are open. I know this would only be good for a small group but so far......that is all we have.
Cabin on the White River near Calico Rock, Arkansas for rent.

Cabin located at an excellent fishing site and just across the river from the Ozark National Forest. The White River is a premier trout stream with trophy Rainbows and Browns. Great on and off road riding abounds in this area. The road into the cabin is an adventure in itself! Great mountain biking nearby at the Syllamore Mountain Bike Trails which have several loops totalling about 60 miles. Cabin has a deck on the river and a rough boat launch available (gravel).
Two bedrooms with twin beds in one room and a full in the other. Completley furnished, modern kitchen, comfortable and a wonderful view. Secluded, quiet but not isolated.
Fellow Adventure Rider rate is $100.00 per night, Two Night Minimum Please (I have to pay a two night minimum to have the place cleaned). Regular rate is $125 and up.
PM me for further details and availability. If I'm unavailable...(on the river fishing) go to
http://www.mountoliveoutdoors.com You can book with Katie or Randy but I would prefer you PM me first so I can coordinate the discount. If for some reason I can't be reached just ask Katie or Randy for the Adventure Rider Discount.

I don't think that I will make it to AR, but let me know when you are going to travel to KY/OH.

I will be out of the country again this year during the Fall Bash, so I can't attend, but in my opinion, Steve, that is another great area to base. The roads east of Byway 7 are not as crowded and the scenery is equally as beautiful. There is a "mom/pop" type cafe in Calico Rock that has some of the best "home cooking" you could hope for. I can't remember the name, but it is on the main street, on the east side of the road just a few doors north of the railroad. There is an Ice cream parlor next door, if I remember correctly. If you end up in Calico Rock sometime during the ride, be sure to stop in there. It was that good.

There are plenty of good roads in Arkansas. I wish I could attend again, but I'll be Africa that week. You all have fun.

I made up my mind a long time ago, that I would not/could not attend a gathering where I could not safely return home in one day's riding on a Sunday from sunup to sundown. I made an exception when I rode to Eureka Springs last year, and made it home way after dark, but the ride was way too long and unsafe to do in one day. Iron Butt be damned.

BIG NEWS: Arkansas (Fall) Bash Oct 9-12...MOVED TO MISSOURI!

Post by duckdave »

Well, the bash-miesters have met, considered all the options, and guess what????
In keeping with tradition we are moving the location of the Fall Roadster Bash, this time to Potosi, MO.

Why Potosi, you ask?
Well, because that's the location of the Falling Leaf Rally, sponsored by the Gateway Riders BMW Motorcycle Club of St. Louis.

Why, again you ask?
1) Because the rally is located in one of the best riding areas in central US according to Bill Swartzwelder (from Arkansas!):
Falling Leaf is a great rally. The camp sites are spread out enough to not feel like cattle. They provide fire wood so there are a hundred of campfires. Your group can stake a claim and have its own camp fire..... Yet still walk around and look at other bikes and visit. Southeast MO roads are much better than Arkansas roads [no, say it ain't so, it can't be!!!] and everyone should have a good time.
2) Good time, you say…GOOD TIME???
Bill sayz:
3) Potosi is more centrally located (at least to those we asked) for many attendees.

4) Can you say Anvil Blast?
If you need any further convincing we think anvil blast sayz it all. You can view Bill's video here: http://bswartz.net/anvilblast.wmv

So there you have it.
