I would like to explore the finger lakes as well. Recent issue of Road Runner Mag (Jan/Feb) had a shamrock tour with base in Ithaca that sounded great. Never been to a bash ride so I don't know what is involved. From the thread it sounds like there is some genuine interest.

Schedule it and lets ride.

Sorry I missed that issue of Road Runner; one of my favorite mags but have not subscribed yet.
Ithaca is a great location; but September is back to school month for Cornell & Ithaca College; our first candidates were sold out the weekend after Labor Day for the Vintage Races in Watkins Glen. We'll go a little farther off the beaten track to find a place; ....

Strangelove; probably too early that weekend for Leaf Peeping; the weather is hit or miss that time of year; could be perfect motorcycling (70's & sunny) or just ideal (60's & overcast) or just OK (light rain & 50's). The other issue is wildlife & nightfall; the deer get spooky & the night comes early so I like to be off the road by 7:00 or so.

Updates on location to follow; date to be weekend after Labor Day.

Regards,

Location is set, Canandaigua NY.
Location features:
- hotel $70 per night; rooms have 2 beds so you can share expense
- ok to consume outside of room
- less than 500 ft from lake
- restaurant onsite with bar, but no breakfast
- VERY good gelato within walking distance (Muar House Cafe)
- I do not have contact information with me but will post soon; they can hold rooms, but not without CC reservation; event name is R1150R Bash

Darryl - I, for one, am not afraid of liberal yankees :smt021

Can you refresh us on the specific date planned for this? I can't tell for sure when it's supposed to happen. Location looks great by the way.

Date is weekend after Labor Day, 2010.
Canandaigua is a nice town, if a little pricey, but G & I know the places close by that are good and reasonable.

There must be some more Northeasters up for it; or maybe some of our friends to the North, eh?

Sounds like Chibert might be up for joining us.
MikeCam might be chicken
Scottybooj is relatively close to home, maybe he can bring a few buds from Backbreaker U Alumni w/ him.
JohnyJS1 will have a nice backroad route from Ohio
MLW & I will be (too) close to home.

Now, to really make it fun, we have to get OU812 out of Illinois and into NY; where the fun is, & hopefully drag his cousin with him (so long as he still has those valve stem caps on). Espeically if MikeCam is still too wimpy to venture into Yankee territory.

After review - the vacation/PTO days will not add up to enough so I regretfully have to say I am out.

Underwhelming response; no FL Bash.
However, the previous weekend (Labor Day) our local club (Fingerlakes BMW) is having it's annual rally on the grounds of Watkins Glen State Park. It's the only Rally I've ever attended so I'm no judge, but seems to be favored by many in the Northeast.

Anyone planning on attending the Finger Lakes BMW Rally in two weeks?

We will be camping there for the weekend and live just over the hill ( 20 minutes)

You can find us working under the Flee Market tent at the Rally. If you are attending the Rally for the weekend and have motorcycle related items to sell, bring them to the tent and fill out a form. There will be 100's of items for sale all weekend, mostly BMW and gear related.

I am waiting for my kid's hockey team to schedule, or to NOT schedule a hockey tournament Labor Day weekend. If not, we will be there. Finger Lakes Rally is the best.
We will be camping in the back over the bridge, with the yahoos.
