Deal's Gap is open on the NC side. You can ride across and then back... cops are still there.

Boxermainia - sorry for the cancelled plans. It would have been good to see you again. The first Bash was indeed a great time. And while I will not likely be the only one showing up that went to the first one, I bet I might be the only one coming on the same bike! In fact been to all of them on the same bike!

Mac - your plans are similar to mine. Email me. You should be coming by the house! I was going to leave early but I could be persuaded to alter my plans or meet up down the road.

And last I heard Deal's Gap had been opened, although maybe only one lane on the TN side.*

*edit - Just read Rob's report - guess the official announcement about having one lane open on the TN side was wrong. Oh well, I usually just turn around and go back anyway!

Deal's Gap is closed!? I cannot think of a better time to visit!

Vann, I won't be able to make solid plans until Saturday. I'll be in touch.

Don't worry about Deal's Gap, we can find other roads just as good! You know that!

The best part about the Dragon being closed beyond the very end on the TN side is that there's no local/conventional thru traffic. It was literally barren except for the few bikes riding it both ways. I've never seen the Dragon traffic that empty! The worst part was those 2 separated police cars parked just around the corners. I'm sure they could hear any bike approaching with a lot of RPM's and shifting, absolutely knowing they were NOT going 35MPH. One bad thing is that any biker thinking he'll outrun the cops is in for a big surprise at the dead end. It's still worth the ride.

Van....By God, I think you are right, you are probably the one with the same bike since BB1. That being said, a ride down 28, from the DG service station might be fun.... and yes, the ride will conclude at that I'll fated restaurant, at night, remember?

A few years back.....at the begining.....

Did Brian and/or Coop trade or sell their original bikes?

I think at Barstow - we all lined up in the rear of the parking lot and tried to make sure the nut on the front wheel all lined up in a pretty row. ANyone else remember? It seemed we couldn't get it 'just right'.

Come to think of it, Tony607 might still have the same bike.

chibbert, yes, I have a pic of the Barstow line-up, let me dig it up and I'll post. Difficult to locate Mike Cam, thank God he was wearing the Safety yellow gear...... =D> =D>

Personally - I like the hi-viz stuff. I was hoping to get a hi-viz Kilimanjaro but alas Iron Pony did not have one in a 2XLT. I'd like to have one of those roadcrafters but I just assume it would be like trying to stuff 10 lbs of poo into a 5 lb. bag heheh

Al, you've been playing with too many of those big ole drill bits in Louisiana. Tony607 was not at the first Bash. You're thinking of RatBastard.
