I wear a 34" inseam but I think I am considered 'over square' when I throw in the circumference of my waist

I would have to have on a pair of Gene Simmons boots from Kiss to get a 34" inseam.

Are the recent rains/floods in TN going to be an issue in the bash area?
There are reports in ADVrider about lots of roads washed away, but I am guessing????? they are talking about the Nashville area.

Re: 30 Days to Bash 7 - Harriman, TN May 13-16
Spent the majority of the evening doing some pre-flight checks and a little bit of packing.
Finally decided to clean the oily residue from my very leaky oil-filler cap and surrounding areas. A bamboo skewer (I cook too much) and some wadded up paper towels worked nicely. I did as directed and removed and thoroughly cleaned the o-ring and filler cap and seating area until it was perfectly dry. Put everything back together and has a much tighter seat-feel to it - hoping this resolves my issue.
...next...
I discovered that I can (if I twist my toes just right) fit a quart of motor oil conveniently under/behind the pillion and still have room for the tool kit as well as important papers and manuals.
...next...
I installed (if you could call it that) my new Rok Straps to see how they would work for extra carry-on. I think the straps are the bees knees but I am not elated about the few choices for tethering points that I had. I am on a quick search for fasteners like bungee buddies but with a longer attaching bolt and preferably in stainless (closed loop). If you have any ideas - lemme know.
Cheers!
Chris

I so want to make it to this event this year, but May seems to be a tough month for me. As we know, there's mother's day. Then my anniversary, and to top it off, my wife's birthday!!! What was I thinking?
I may still try to make it - does anyone have a room they want to share?

My TENTATIVE plan is to ride to the Robbinsvile area on Thursday, then meander to Harriman on Friday. A sunrise pass through Deal's Gap on a weekday (Friday) might be too hard to pass up. That could be followed by riding the Cherohala Skyway into Tennessee. Is anyone interested in an intercept? I plan to be on the white R1150GS.

Well I think is time to fess up......
First, I’m not the mystery rider
Second, I have been planning to make an unannounced show with the Burgman
I decided to make the Bash after realizing that I have been fortunate to have met and befriend 13 of the 24 attendees, some on more than one occasion and it would be have been great to meet up again, unfortunately, recent events of mechanical nature at the facility I'm contracted to support have derailed my plans.
A bit of trivia for old and new alike, the first Beakster Bash talks came to light around October 03' under the initiative of a now departed member and came to fruition on the spring of 2004 via the collective effort of 4 others that decided to carry the effort through. The main hangout was Tapoco Lodge on 129 on the way to Robbinsville, with the overflow staying in Robbinsville. There were 24 attendees, weather was great, riding was great and we had a great time. I'm proud to have been part of that initial effort.
Enjoy the rides, the company, be safe and please take a group picture.

At least your TENTATIVE is defnitive, Mac. Sorry your plans got derailed, Al.
Regarding my plans, all I know so far is that my bike is ready with new tires, has had it's 30,000 mile service done recently, has a new piece of luggage for this trip and it is running great.
I don't know my route yet, but I'm watching the weather and will probably decide this weekend. No idea yet when I will arrive either. I tend to wander. But I do know I'm leaving Monday and intend to take minor highways and backroads and camp along the way. I figure by the time I arrive, I will have traveled about 1200 miles and be pretty tired.
