I'm in and so is my son. Don't need much of an excuse to take time off to ride WV and the Shenandoah Valley. What is the name of the local onion dish in WV? Had some locals describe it when we had the Bash in Barstow.

That's it! Thanks. It does not sound like a good food dish. Had a woman at an earlier Bash in WV tell me that there is a Ramp festival every year in WV and that they are good washed down with bourbon. YIKES!!! I think I'll pass on that one. Looks like a good choice for food in Lewisburg is an Irish pub. Bring your darts! The town seems to have a nice choice of eateries.

One thing to remember about eating ramps (we have them here in WNC also) - eat it today and people at work Monday will know you did!

The odor on your breath has staying power!

But yes, Lewisburg has many eating options that don't include ramps.

they are good washed down with bourbon.
When you begin the meal you go 90% Bourbon and 10% ramps. By the time the meal is over you can stomach 90% ramps and 10% Bourbon

Ride with the visor open a little for a few thousand miles; that'll shift the odor from ramps to eau de road. :) :) :)

Just a thread bump to let everyone know, things are still in the works for the Bash. There are certain impatient individuals bugging me for details (you know who you are! :p ) and they will be forthcoming soon! Promise!

Meanwhile, plan for May 17-20th. Lewisburg, WV.

Ride great roads, eat, drink responsibly and hang out. Repeat. That's the plan as always. :D

Thanks Vann; MLW & I are looking forward to it more than ever.
STDocLizard, Marty & John: What route are you planning on taking & when are you leaving?
We'll likely leave the fingerlakes on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning; stay somewhere in southern PA the first night & then be @ the Bash Spot the next day. Could arrange to meet @ a mutually convenient hotel if any of you are planning on staying overnight somewhere on the way there.
Vann; thanks for the

Is a beakster or other BMW required to attend?

AndyRR, all makes are welcome. One of the prettiest motorcycles that I've ever seen was a beautiful Honda Magna that showed up at the Marlinton, WV Bash a few years ago. It was ridden by the son of one of our forum members.

We even had a Harley guy came all the way from Illinois to Tennessee one time. I think he was the brother of one of our forum members.

We even let the Harley rider keep his door prize! A set of BMW air valve caps!

They made that HD look good too!

That's awesome. I should be able to make it. Is this a camping thing, a hotel thing or both? I would love a set of BMW air valve caps - do they have lights on them? [-o<

Bash Central is usually a hotel. Camping options are often nearby. I'm a tenderfoot that needs a bed and a terlet at the end of the day.

Stamps: haven't heard from Doc yet on the plan, guess we're waiting on official word. Definitely would like to link up with you for the ride down.

It's 425 miles via the super slab( I 78 to I 81 to I 64) for me; certainly doable in one day. I was thinking of leaving on Thursday morning, but I have some flexibility since I retired from coaching baseball. Let me connect with John & Marty to compare schedules. Meeting up would be great.

For all you Yankees making plans, Doc probably has a pretty good idea what motel will be Bash Central, since he was the one to send me the recommendation! ;)

I will be posting something official soon!
