At this point, my HM plans are in limbo. There is a possibility I might make it after all but I won't know until the weekend.

John and I have been in touch and either we will be sharing the site or he will have it. John, if your friend comes, we might need to find another site to share or get 3 tents on it, which will also work.

But the great thing about this campground, is there is lots of room, so anyone thinking about it, don't sweat it. There is room. In fact, we usually double up on sites near the bathroom and leave some of the further sites unoccupied, even though they all are 'taken'.

Okay boys and girls. The time has come to get your gear in order, get packed up and head to Marion, Virginia to Hungry Mother State Park for our annual "Rain Ride". Actually we've been pretty lucky the last few years with a noticeable reduction in precipitation during the Hungry Mother weekend. Doesn't matter. Bring it on. The weekend is great even with rain.

I'll try to make it there before anyone else on Friday, but if anyone gets there and I haven't posted the reservation tags on the posts, just go ahead and, if the office will let you, pick them up and stick them on the 11 campsite posts at Loop C. I have ALL 11 sites reserved for Friday and Saturday nights! All 11! And don't forget to bring a few nails or screws, or ropes to attach the tents to the wooden decks. The tents aren't set up on ground. They are set up on wooden decking, so if you want your "staked" you'll need some nails or screws, or sufficient rope. Personally, I haven't seen fit to even worry about it. The gear inside has always held it down pretty good.

We hope to see some of you "fence sitters" on Friday. You won't regret the trip.

See y'all Friday. Ride safely.

I will be there assuming I can get my sorry ass in gear and change the oil in my bike before Friday. If there aren't any sites available I'd gladly share a site with someone, I actually prefer to share a site anyway!

Vann is officially out, and I'm in along with my co-worker Paul. Paul was there with me last year. Talking with Vann, I'm taking his site which Paul and I will share unless we need to occupy all 11 sites. I'll take care of the money offline with Vann. Vann will be missed.

See everyone this Friday!

Yes! The Loop "C" is paid for already. Just settle up with Vann, or for anyone else who has NOT paid, just come and settle your share with whoever you split a site with. But please come! There's room for up to about 30 guys...or gals, if they are willing to put up with us. The more the merrier!

Mark, I will talk to you on Friday, but you can have Brian's site I believe. He is probably not going to be back from his western trip by then, or if he is, he will be too tired to join us...and he already paid for a site.

Sounds like its time for a bigger house? You could find it easier if it were all spread out...

No worries Jeff. Just stop by Wally Mart and grab a cheapo sleeping bag. You can sleep in the ladies' bath house. We won't disturb you.

I hate to miss it. I have only missed one in what? . . . 10 years? You guys have a good time. I will be staying busy trying to stay ahead of my dog on the agility course and hoping not to embarrass him!

I will be planning some rides after Labor Day, so maybe some of us can get together later this fall!

I am using my wife's tent, a Kelty Gunnison 3, which is the 3 person version of my tent. I bought a Dry bag at dingle's to stuff everything in, and a new sleeping bag from Amazon for $32. The sleeping bag is a little bigger than the old one, but it is rated to lower temps. I almost bought a new tent from dingle's and from Amazon. it was down to a Eureka! Apex 2XT, Marmot Aspen 2, and a Kelty Acadia 2.

John, I may have let someone borrow the tent, and sleeping bag. But now I don't know who that person is.

Sorry to hear that you can't make it Vann.

Does anyone have any objections to eating at Macado's in downtown Marion for Sat night meal? Breakfast at Appletree.

Not gonna make it guys. I hope the weather turns out better than the predictions. Maybe I'll make a Fall rendezvous should there be one.

It did. One thing I have learned from riding a motorcycle is NEVER pay any attention to weather predictions. Rained Friday night but it was beautiful Sat and Sunday. Reports on "Great Rides" to follow.

So where is the ride report and some pictures? Any information for those of us who couldn't make it?

I took some pictures but I'm just slow this week getting them edited etc.. Marvin usually takes pics and videos but he was a slacker in that department this time since he was leading rides all three days. I think he got SOME, but it may be some time before he puts anything together. he usually posts on YouTube, so when I hear I'll forward the link. In the meantime I'll keep going through my photos and get them up pretty soon.

BTW, I found my camping gear in a rubbermaid container with the Christmas decorations and not with the rest of the camping gear. I am glad I took my wife's 3 person tent instead of my two person one. Easier in and out, and more space to keep stuff dry(or let it dry out.

Great nights for camping and amazing days for riding. Nothing wakes you up like riding the West Virginia Turnpike in a driving rain.
