UK Memorial Meet 2013

Post by riceburner »

If anyone is up for a little bit of motorcycle related socialising over the First May Bank Holiday weekend (3,4,5 May) this year, then we'd be very pleased to welcome you to the 12th Annual Memorial Meet at Lumb Farm, Derbyshire.

The back-story is that a small community of riders on the Visordown forum decided to meet up after the death of a particularly popular forum member, way back in 2001. The Memorial Meet has since become an annual tradition and welcomes all who wish to make new friends, renew old friendships and remember lost ones.

The camping weekends, for the last 4 years have proven particularly successful - there's something special about gathering around a large bonfire with your friends, both old and new, and sharing a few drinks while telling tall tales. At £15 per head for campers, the price is not too dear.

The venue has done us proud over the years, they serve good food, tasty beer, and this year they're even offering a B&B service for those who prefer comfort.

If you're interested, please get in touch directly with me, either via this thread, or private message.

MAIN EVENT DETAILS

The Memorial Meet will be held at 12am-2pm, on Saturday 4th May 2013, at Lumb Farm, Derbyshire (website). The pub does pretty good food for lunch, and are well stocked. ;) There's plenty of parking room for cars & bikes.

Nobody interested?

Maybe next year. :) I'm thinking of moving it somewhere more southerly (between Brum - Oxford maybe), does anyone know of a campsite with the following:
A space to have a large bonfire (ABSOLUTE MUST)
A pub next door / within a 5 minute walk
tarmac/gravel parking for motorcycles
Allows caravans/Tin Tents
less than £300 to hire for 2 nights.
Non quod, sed quomodo.
