Bike is lookin' good Steve!
I'm a little late on this, but if anyone wants to split a room, let me know. My wife had surgery Thursday and I wasn't sure about making it. She's good and I am cleared to go!

Glad to see you can make it to Mt. Airy this year and maybe sharing another ice cream cake.

The last head count was 25 committed and a few unsure. I need a final head count for dinner and I need to call by Wednesday. If possible could the fence sitters let me know by a pm or posting on the thread. Thanks!

My plan is arrival mid to late morning Friday. If anyone is around then, let's go riding!

Lasagna sound good to me, I'll be there. I hope to get in Friday late afternoon.

Weather reports are shaping up for a wet ride for me coming up on Thursday. Anyone else going to be there Thursday night?

My friend Rusty and I will be heading that way on Thursday. Looks like we'll be wet as well. We're planning to take highways 321 to 421 to 601 on the way there.
I don't know what time we'll get there. I would like to make it before dark.

Van, you know you can count on me for dinner. I don't miss a meal. Rusty will be there too.

There are three of us coming from Staunton, plus meeting Yong for lunch at noon Friday so a total of four. We're planning on riding much of the BRP down. Not sure what our arrival time will be--probably early evening if we decide to slab some of it.

4 for dinner Saturday evening!

I'll be arriving sometime Thursday afternoon in the rain. It wouldn't be a Bash unless you get wet at lest once. Tagging along with me will be Buckster and my son.

Lasagna Saturday night sounds good to me.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

My big dilemma: Should I wear my mesh boots tomorrow where the rain will just go in and back out, or my waterproof boots which only keeps the water inside that gets in somehow?

The best I can figure is between 26 and 28 if all the 'maybes' show up. I have arranged the catered lasagna dinner for 28. Should be enough if even a couple more show up.

Knowing this crowd, I added desserts to the menu of lasagna, salad and bread, and includes cups, ice, some tea and plates and utensils. Adding the desserts brought the total, counting delivery to the motel, to slightly more than $10. I'll take ten but any additional contributions of an extra few quarters would be appreciated! We probably should bring in some liter bottles of drinks also for variety.

Delivery is set up for dinner at 7:00. So plan your riding accordingly! We will eat in the adjacent meeting room and have the drawings for door prizes there also after dinner.

Looking forward to the weekend!

All,

Here are some files for a route Vann got from the Ducati group.
I've exported both a Route and a Track from Garmin Basecamp, not sure if there is any difference because they're both .gpx files. Also there is an Adobe .pdf document for each map and a .pdf with directions. The only difference in the two is that the BRP Alt version includes a section of Blue Ride Parkway on the return trip instead of 221 back toward Sparta. Sorry but the maps don't show route numbers very well, and the directions are quite long.

Bash 2014 Loop1:
230 Miles
5:31 Minutes estimated moving time

Bash 2014 Loop1 BRP Alt:
235 Miles
5:46 Minutes estimated moving time

Patty & I arrived about 7pm last evening with Stamps beating us in by about an hour or so. Easy ride down the slab accounting for 533 miles(8.5 hours) on the clock. Had dinner across the street at Ruby Tuesday. Breakfast this morning at the Olympia Family Restaurant in town.................great grub but cash only.

The rain started over night and has been a continuous shower ever since. Occasional thunderstorm with heavy rain is forecast for the day with the precipitation expecting to stop around 10:00pm tonight.

Friday, Saturday, & Sunday look good with temps in low seventies and dry. =D>

You all be careful on the way in if you are traveling today. [-o<

I had a flat rear just into VA on 77. Called BMW and they had it towed to the nearest BMW dealer.... In Roanoke. Just found out the dealer is closed tomorrow.

The roadside assistance is great, just don't need it on a Monday or worse a Sunday :(

Steve - that truly sucks. Poor way to end an otherwise great weekend.

The majority of attendees had left before Vince, Yong and I headed out for a backroad route to Boone for lunch with my oldest son at App State. Then Yong headed north on 421 for "The Snake", Vince headed south on 421 for Raleigh and I wandered on back to Asheville.

Thanks everyone for a great weekend and please check in to let us know you made it home!

That really sucks Steve, sorry to hear about your flat. Maybe someone on R1150R, ADV or another forum is near enough to help with plugging it? Not everyone's preference for fixing a flat (when possible), but might be more acceptable than waiting two days.

We made it back without incident; departed @ 06:29 and arrived @ 18:49; 610 miles according to Honda GPS; not sure of actual. Must have been some kind of ADV or similar meet somewhere, G saw a bunch of GSs when I was in a store, had to hide my face when a few drove in to gas up; still coping with the shame of the trailer :( :( :(. OTOH, would not have been able to make it otherwise, so it's worth the suffering.

Best regards,

D&G
