2015 Bash May 15-17, Staunton Virginia

Post by towerworker »

Time to start getting ready for the Bash of 2015! This year the Bash will be held in Staunton right in the heart of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Most of you know many of the local roads have some of the best riding and beautiful views of anywhere this side of the Mississippi!

I have made arrangements with a Howard Johnson Motel right in the heart of Staunton. Some other BMW groups and other brands have often used this motel and the owner is very happy to have us this coming May. He has offered us a good rate of $80.00 +tax per nite and that's for whatever type or room you need whether it be a single king or double queen size bed. OK--here comes the important stuff........There are 3 colleges and universities within 30 minutes and they ALL are having their graduation ceremonies that same weekend. Every motel in Staunton fills up quickly as May approaches. It is extremely important that if you are planning to attend the Bash you need to make your reservations as quickly as you can..........NOW is not too soon! Too give you a comparison I checked with a Hampton Inn in town and they quoted me a rate for a double that very same weekend of $249 a nite with a 3 nite minimum! I can't stress too much the importance of reserving quickly.

We will have some great rides planned for the weekend.........and get this.......Frontline Eurosports in Salem Va is participating in the Bash! I think everyone will love what's coming and this Bash has all the earmarks of being one of the best we've ever had.

Here is a link directly to the Staunton Howard Johnson. When you call or make reservations online just tell them you will be a part of the BMW Bash to get the rates quoted.

OK--more to come later but this is enough for now to get you all started for next year!

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for making the arrangements.

The link doesn't work for me on my Mac, but that might just be me.

According to Mapquest, Staunton is a mere 1,010 miles away. I plan on being there if I can cope with some recurring health issues.

Well I sure hope you can! Been quite a while since we last saw one another. I sure understand health challenges. Take care of yourself, far more important than riding. I didn't realize you lived that far away.

Hey Wayne. The link does not work, but I booked a room @

Howard Johnson Express Inn
268 N Central Ave, Staunton, VA 24401
(540) 886-5330

assuming that is the establishment for BBXII.

Patty & I shall be arriving on Wednesday evening and departing on Sunday in order to get three days of riding in. Looking forward to seeing you all again.

Thanks for the legwork,

Doc

RESERVED!!! WooHoo!!!!
Staunton VA here we come (in a few months, after a long & grueling winter).
G has a new pretty pink helmet just for the occasion, thanks to Slater's good suggestion & the nice folks @ Helmet World Canandaigua.

Looking forward to it.

Oh, and my '09 GSA has survived the final drive of doom failure @ 43,000 miles thanks to the prudent purchase of an extended warranty and the good guys @ MAX BMW NY. Picked up @ my house on a Wednesday and delivered back to it the following Wednesday for the mere cost of a little over $130. Clean, fixed & ready to go (or at least ready for me to change the rear pads & disc). Tomorrow may be the last ride, as the threat of snow later in the week will likely put some salt on the roads.

Cheers,

I reserved a room earlier this week. Plan to ride down on Thursday so I can ride Friday and Saturday this year. Looking forward to it :)

Last year my bike was towed to Frontline Eurosports when I had a flat rear tire. They have a nice shop. Several S1000RR's on the floor.

I'm glad you guys are planning to come--so looking forward to it!

On the link....I'm not very computer savvy. I could only get it to work if I right clicked and selected to open in a new tab or window. So sorry for any additional work or confusion. Confusion.........that has become a daily walk for me!

Hi Guys...new to the forum, and I'm hoping I can make this bash. I lived just south of Staunton (Greenville) for 7-8 years, but left around 1987. I still have some friends I'd love to make contact with again as well. It is a beautiful area, for sure. A lot of nice riding, history, and scenery...and the people are nice too :)

Bob

Oh...picking up my '11 R1200R tomorrow and leaving my Tiger 1050 :(

Guess I have been a slacker checking in on this but I am booked! Vince is planning on coming also and I am so looking forward to riding 250 and on to the great West By God Virginia roads with him and whoever wants to come along!

Hope we have a good turn out and good to see the Yankee contingent is on top of things and booked also!

Wayne, you planning on a catered meal for Saturday again?

Mac, did you reference the BMW Bash group? All other rooms are probably taken but that group was reserved for us but you have to mention the group.
