Stout nails! Screw eyes! Is this a mini-bash or a hardware convention?
I can't remember what I did last year, but I didn't have nails or screw eyes and the tent stayed put. I think I just lashed the fly down with small rope around the boards... and the weight of all my stuff held the tent down fine.

Is anyone able to bring a small cooler? If not I will strap one on the back of my bike. Chris isn't coming this time. That way we can have ice cold beer all night long. I can't get wood but I can get ice!

There is a slight chance that I may be bringing an additional rider - My father. The very same man who inspired me to ride motorcycles in the first place had all but gotten rid of every motorcyle he had ever owned by the time I was old enough to hit the streets. Now he's pondering getting another BMW - likely about his 7th by now. He's looking for an older one - most likely an airhead but possibly an oilhead and hell - he may even jump to the dark side and go with a flying brick! What he decides on won't matter to me a bit - I am just anxious to get a chance to ride with the old fart before he keels over. There's room for him at #4 if he decides to come but I thought I would let you all know - I'm excited! :P

An invitation:

To any r1150r.org visitors, please feel free and welcome to join us for this group event. There is still some space available in this fairly large and scenic campground. This isn't just for members only. And for our women posters: You will be made to feel welcome and safe. Wtih only one exception, this is a group of great gentlemen - devoted husbands, fathers, and friends . You will be glad you took the plunge and joined us.

mac

P.S.
(My parents like to tell their friends that I'm exceptional.)

I'm trying to get either the wife or the girlfriend to come. It would only be for dinner though, neither would spend the night. So, the clean restroom may still be fair game.

I *might* be able to come. A time in my life has come when I am forced (dont ask) to have a "Reproductivity Elminination Procedure." The Doc (who doesnt ride) recommends a minimum two-week riding hiatus. The clip job is the 4th, so that puts me on the medically recommended cusp of riding.

Frankly (and apologies to the ladies) if my balls dont hurt on the 17th with a couple hours riding then I will mosey on down. I have no camping gear however. Mike said he might have some for me to use, so Mike if that is still possible let me know.. but I cant commit, so if it is too much of a problem then I understand completely.

Man, I hate having to go through this and hate more not being sure I can go.

Since we're being all helpful and friendly. . . . .

Rich,

I'm willing to bring a "cool" gell sack for you to use - place it in a cooler for a little while and then it's yours.

P.S. You can keep the sack when you're done :)

Rich, from experience, you should be OK by then. Unless you don't take it easy for a while after the surgery, in which case, Mike may have to loan you a 4-man tent to cover the swelling!

You know, I expected a bit of good-natured jabbing, but I did not want to post some outrageous reason for not coming...

Thanks all for your ahem... support.

Mike, it's just me and I don't take up too much space :) Whatever one person would need is great.

No gel sacks will be needed, but thank you chibby.

Ill post a minimally graphic status report in a week or so.

I'm looking forward to seeing you guys!

Speaking of "support", that's exactly the type of underwear my doc told me to wear. Only problem was he was Scottish and "supporting" sounded more like "sporting" and I never could figure out what he ment by that. Showed up in some boxers and caught a little grief.

Mention it at Hungry Mother and I'll tell you about the anesthesia. You can relate your own stories by then.

"Chibby" I love it!!!
