Old Clark Inn (a B&B) http://www.oldclarkinn.com Pocahontas County, WV
Motorcycle Friendly. Lots of roads....lots of twisties.
Here is the concept:
WHOLE HOUSE RATE
• Subject to availability
• $350 per night ~ up to 15 people, Non-Peak, No Breakfast
• $15 per person over 15
• Breakfast ~ +$5 per person
• Deposit required
• Balance due must be paid in one transaction upon check-in.
At that price it's cheaper than camping!
So $700.00 bucks for an advance credit card secured reservation.
If enough folks can commit, I will call Nelson and secure the dates. We'll work out the sleeping rooms and arrangements later. Trust us, this place is worth twice as much cash and the downtown is a great area. I'll get local road pics during the Watoga Trip in September. We can handle more than 15 folks at the Inn with additional cots and arrangements. Nelson has a deal with another B&B for overflow. I'll determine how much advance he needs for that.
And I will do T-shirts this time.
Quick count: who is in?
Camfarm, Machew01, Carlos, Vann, 12Bar, MCoop, Yong, Thad, John, Phil, Jeff, Brian, Chris, .... .... ....

A Dozen
That's 12 already. Good guys.
Doug and Thad,
We talked much about moving either further south or further north but this deal is too good to pass up and there was a critical mass of mid-Atlantic riders. We owe you....

I just spent a weekend with Mikecam camping. He was in a tent 15 feet from mine, and I can tell you..he snores so loudly even the bears wouldn't come near at night!!!wncbmw wrote:I've been to three Bashes, met all of you people, and don't want to sleep with any of you.

I can tell you from experience that Mark could scare away some bears himself.mcooperstein wrote: I just spent a weekend with Mikecam camping. He was in a tent 15 feet from mine, and I can tell you..he snores so loudly even the bears wouldn't come near at night!!!

But, I don't have any room to talk either.
Mike's right. What happens on the trip, should stay on the trip.
JOURNEY JUNKIE #187
My youngest son has decided to go with a buddy and enter a downhill mountain bike race at Snowshoe this weekend. Since we would be home alone, on a whim, my wife and I decided on a road trip to WV to check out the race and sight see. I emailed the Old Clark Inn to see if any rooms were available but the reply said no but they could help me find something. When I called back 2 hours later, they had a cancellation and we are staying there Saturday night. As a service to the board, I will take some more pictures and post when I get back.
The down side to the trip - since my wife no longer rides, I will be driving the cage.
Upside - I share the room with her instead of any of you guys!

Old Clark Sleeping Arrangements
Nelson says the date is ours.
13 beds. And 19 folks limit on the Whole House rental. We will use cots to overflow the spare guys. Seems it's always all guys, right?
I guess if any of the female members show up it makes no difference on beds but does impact room mates...we'll adjust.
I'll handle the deposit and the lump sum payment. You guys will reimburse me. Not yet. After 1st of year.

Old Clark Inn
Greetings from the front porch of the Old Clark Inn! Ain't wireless wonderful! As a service to my fellow board members, I am forcing myself to enjoy this summer evening on the porch, drinking a Corona and shooting the bull with some fellow motorcyclists staying here and the proprietor of the place, also a rider.
The Inn is an 80 year old building with a ton of character and lots of room to gather on the porch, in the backyard or the living room. All of us familar with the area know the roads are fantastic. Even trapped in the cage for the weekend, I have enjoyed driving the roads. The owners are really nice folks and cater to motorcyclists. Food and drink are an easy walk down the steet. We are going to enjoy this place and the area!
I'll post some pictures later when I return home but for now, I am neglecting conversation and my beer. Bye!
