Cycle World International Motorcycle Show NYC 19 - 21 Jan
NY/NJ/PA/CT people: Anyone going ? I will be. Haven't decided when but it would be nice to get a few of us together. I'm thinking maybe Friday or Saturday late afternoon followed by eats in Little Italy.

I was planning to join you NYC area guys, but I've come down with a cold. I'm currently esconced in my house in Northern VA. Seems like the crazy weather taking a permanent dip for cooler temperatures got to me. Hope y'all have fun. I hear the DC iteration was good.

What did everyone think of the show? The BMW exhibit?
I enjoyed the show. The new Victory touring rigs have a good bit of BMW in the face, I think. I got fitted for some custom ear plugs, should get them in a few weeks and hope to be able to render an opinion shortly thereafter. Gotta remember BMW of Manhattan next year.

I loved the show. Got to sit on every model my stubby legs could reach . I found it interesting how different (and yet familiar) the R1200R was to my 2k R1100R; slightly sportier look, great tail light, cylinders forward and up just enough to make duckwalking more comfortable.
Unfortunately, now I have a tough choice before me: when I win the bike giveaway, which should I pick - the K1200GT, or the R1200RT?
My 3-year old daughter loved the stunt show. I was afraid the noise would scare her and she'd start crying. Instead, the sight of her jaw dropping when they did a mid-air cartwheel was priceless!
The Victories look beautiful, but a little too sci-fi for the average custom crusier rider, IMHO. I just can't see it being a big seller to the "if it don't look like a Harley custom, it ain't a bike" crowd, which seems to be Victory's core audience.
