his years bike trip taken over six days in September.

Day 1 Hul(Yorkshire) to Zeebrugge (Belgium)
to Luxembourg, France and Germany stopping overnight in Prum

Day 2 Germany in to France back in to Germany stopping overnight
in Baden-Baden.

Day 3 Germany through the Black Forest to the Rhine and in to France
stopping overnight in Belfort.

Day 4 France through Les Vosges and stopping overnight in Sarrebourg.
Les Vosges is a bikers delight. Smooth roads lots of climbs and curves.

Day 5 France through Alsace to Cambrai stopping overnight.

Day 6 Northern France via the Somme(Thiepval) and St Omer(La Coupole) to Zeebrugge and
home.
Total miles 1450 - the two best days were Les Vosges and Black Forest.

there are so many fine roads over there. On the Michelin maps--especially for France, the white roads are uniformly terrific.

If you're looking for another area to check out, I would recommend Brittany. Absolutely magical.

And you are right about Les Vosges, an under appreciated area.
