This is outrageous!!This sort of B.S. would definitely make me consider an uglier fairing and forget about the Wudo.
Of course if I found one with the windshield already screwd on.....

Having to drill your own holes on a piece of plastic that cost $800 is a bit over the top. Dave how is it working out now that you have had it on the bike for a while?
Has anyone seen or tried the Wunderlich fairing?

Brian, I have posted pics of the Wunderlich fairing on this site.
It is a good looking fairing. The owners seem to like it.

So far so good on the Wudo. The wind protection is better than the BMW touring screen and of course I love the look of it.

If I were someone else considering the Wudo my only concern would be drilling the holes for the shield in the fairing, which as I say is a pain but if your meticulous and patient will be just fine.

Dave, as an aside to the Wudo, those driving lights look also look great. Can you give a link to make and supplier please? Would also appreciate your advice on how you mounted them.

They come with brackets that are a little tricky to get to fit properly but have patience as the brackets are "bendable". The nice thing is the brackets are out of view for the most part.

I'm looking at the Hannigan 'touring' fairing for the winter riding months. (probably next year, though )

I know, I know, it's fugly. But behind it at 75mph in near freezing rain, I bet it looks beautiful.

If you're a Mad Max fan, I think it looks OK. And as far as protection goes, it looks hard to beat. To me, anyway.

Yes, I still like to ride naked, just not in November in Vancouver.

I can't wait to see the pictures. I have never thought the Hannigan Fairing to be the ugly thing many of our writers do here. I did not know it was because I was a Mad Max fan. It all fits now.

Well Celticus, I like the shape, it's the proportions that seem out of whack to me. It simply seems too big, and looks really front-heavy.

But I bet the protection is marvelous, especially the touring version.

I have actually been thinking about making my own (a long range project to be sure).

If it was modernized a bit, it would be perfect in my eyes.

Just in time for some great weather, I finally pulled the trigger on the Wudo fairing. Just as Doug said, you have to drill the holes for the shield and the hardware that did come with it to attach the shield to the fiberglass was crap. First ride with it was this morning and it did not disappoint. My only comparison is no shield and the sport shield, but this thing far exceeded my expectations. At 80mph I might as well have been going 40. I look forward to putting some miles on this thing in the next few months! Thank you dderrig for trying this one out and for the recommendation.

Thanks Mark- I'll have to get some more pics when I can ride somewhere worth taking a picture of. I had to settle for this abandoned parking lot at lunch. I don't think the bags do much for her looks, but the fairing is dead sexy! OK, maybe a bit of a stretch. Here's a couple more...

Thanks Lynn. Them folks at Wudo are spot-on with this thing! I knew I should've taken more pictures during assembly but I was just too darned excited. The fairing is held on by four brackets total. One bracket on each side of the headlight replaces the headlight bolt, has a bracket to relocate the turn signals, and secures a bolt that is molded into the fiberglass shell. Two longer brackets attach to the upper bolts that hold the headlight bracket to the steering head. A rubber piece is fitted to close the gap between the headlight bucket and the fiberglass shell. I'll see if I can scan in the directions back at work on Monday. They're in German and it's near impossible to discern what is what in the pictures though. Maybe I can call my doc and get him to let me borrow one of those fancy little cameras...

Thanks Patrick, it's helpful to know that the bolts are molded into the fiberglass shell. That's one of the options I've been considering.
