Charlie, My August schedule is still up in the air and will be until about a week before Hungry Mother. If I'm able to come, I'de be glad to ride with ya.

Cool - hope it works out. I'll be paypaling Vann for a site to help keep him out of trouble with his SO and you're welcome to share the platform. Keep me posted.

Charlie

PS - Yes, the R is still off the road but will hopefully be running by the end of the month.

8 of the 10 reserved sites have been spoken for! Thanks guys! Of course, there is the 11th unreserved site and lots of room for sharing sites. Great riding if you have never come to the Hungry Mother ride!

Time for a bump on the thread for this ride! 9 of the 10 reserved sites have been spoken for but don't let that stop as many as want to from coming! There should be one site that they won't let you reserve and all of the tent platforms have room for more than one tent. We have had many more than 10 or 11 riders show up and be accommodated!

This is a great campsite and lots of good riding in the area. Post up and let us know you are coming!

I am going to try to be there. Riding out of the oil swamp in mid August, then riding back into it qualifies as ORDEAL, but considering the area and the company (harrumph), how can I ignore?

It will depend on my partners allowing me the time off and it is a bit late to ask, but I need
a solo ride
a shakedown ride before Colorado?Utah and Torrey in Sept

I hope to hear Monday or Tues and will paypal the do-re-me.

I hope!

Thanks

I've ridden through that area twice in the past year and know how pretty it is and how nice the roads are. I will warn y'all that WV 16 where it enters War (or Man, can't remember) has some work on railroad tracks cutting across a turn in the road on an angle.

The tracks are raised a couple of inches above the gravel. I tried to go over them slowly as I didn't have an angle because of traffic to hit them at 90 degrees. Hit them at about 75 degrees. My front wheel would not climb the second track to cross and my rear tire spun and spun in railroad gravel until a couple of motorists behind me pushed as I gave her gas and I got across.

Pretty scary and smelly with all the rubber burning.

Also on WV 16 there is a picture I missed. The House of God in Cucumber, WV.
Somebody PLEASE take that picture.

Vann; I will not be making Hungry Mother this year, thank you for your time spent organizing this ride. See you all next year.

OK - I'm in and will take an open tent site or be glad to split/share a site with anyone else (be forewarned - I snore).

I've missed a few years so this will be a nice return to meet old friends and make some new ones.

I've heard that if you wrap an extension cord just right around someones neck - they stop snoring.

Just kidding R4R&R

I am a reformed snorer myself. I now have new age electronics which keep me blissfully quiet.
