Rider down - SJBMW

Post by TonyT607 »

Guys, I've been in contact with SJBMW (Herb Dyer) about riding out to Ohio together. Haven't heard from him in a few days and I just received emails from his sister Joann and Keith from DeSimone Motorcycles (nee Cherry Hill BMW in NJ):

--------
Tony,
Herb asked me to email you and let you know that he was in an accident on his bike last weekend. He is in the hospital recovering nicely, but he will not be traveling to the National Rally. He has a few broken ribs and a broken collar bone, so he will be in rehab for a while. I am sure that he will contact you personally, as soon as he his able.

If you have any questions, please write and I will do my best to get you an answer.

Regards,

Keith A. Cramer
General Manager

---------

I will respond to Keith (nice guy, met him a few weeks ago when my neighbor picked up his new Victory) and already sent a note back to Herb's sister Joann offering up our best wishes and prayers for Herb.
I will contact her again soon to see if there is anything he needs (besides a sponge bath from Angelina Jolie).

Will post when I get any updates.

Be careful out there.

Tony

Sorry to hear about your mishap, but glad it wasn't any worse. I swear some drivers have a 360 degree blind spot.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, SJBMW.

Herb down but not out

Post by TonyT607 »

Just spoke to Herb a few minutes ago. As Scotty mentioned he is busted up pretty good but will heal ok. He is still in the hospital (since July 2) because his pulse Ox is a bit low - his lungs need to start pushing more O2 before they'll let him go home. After a few minutes of talking he gets a bit winded.

Other than that, he seems in good spritis, no word on the bike but Keith from DeSimone Motorcycles in Cherry Hill NJ is handling all that for him.

He appreciates the thoughts you guys have posted on the board.

Hey Herb, hope you are not in too much pain. Take it easy friend! I know breaking a clavical is a drag, I've done it too! I found that laying with my back on a pillow so my shoulder could fall backwards was the most comfortable.

Speedy recovery, my friend!

Get Well Herb

Post by Gord »

All the best for a speedy recovery Herb. I cannot begin to imagine the pain you are going through - physically and mentally. Here is to hoping that you will be back on your feet - and your bike - sooner rather than later.

Herb, would singing to you in Bavarian help?

That would be me singing, btw.

On second thought, better not. You may want to stay in the hospital just so you don't have to hear me.

Getter better quickly, and hopefully you'll be fine and sitting on a bike again quickly.
