Alternator - Adjusting the Belt on r1100r

Post by snarly »

Hi,
I just replaced my Hall sensor and am not sure how to correctly adjust the Alternator belt.

Any ideas for a novice trying to learn how to do my own maintenance?

Thanks!

You know which screw to loosen and how to move the alternator to increase or loosen the tension of the belt?

The tension is right if you can just twist the belt by 90 degrees half way between the two discs.

I suggest you pick the repair manual for your bike here http://www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp

Brgds
