I recall seeing a post re tank bag block view of GPS. On my R1150R had a 550 and also had the standard BMW tank bag. GPS was mounted on the bars with a Ram Mount. I mounted my GPS in a different location on my R12R. With the tank bag on I had no problems using the GPS. Here a link with a photo:
