Bike won't start

Post by mcollect »

After the winter ended, I hooked up the battery tender again, Long story but I can't trickle during times when it might snow. Today I tried to start the bike, battery charger was showing solid red and flashing green. I turned on the ignition and I did not even have instrument lights. Last night when I hooked up the charger I at least had those lights on. What could the problem be?

What's the battery voltage? If it's 12+ I'd be looking at the fuses.

What does your charger's manual say for solid red and flashing green?

I took the tank off and checked the connections fine. Checked the voltage with out the charger 0, with charger 3. Bad battery. A friend loaned me his old from a K bike fits fine and with charger 14+. Good to go except, I am selling the bike so I guess I should by a new battery for the buyer as I have the tank off.
Red light solid = charging Green flashing =80% charged.
