Finally - My Bike Is In My Garage

Post by fleuger99 »

I've been posting here for several months, ordered my bike in early Dec last year after a test ride in Oct last year. The bike arrived at the dealer about 3 weeks ago and I had several items I wanted them to install for me before delivery. I am terrible with electronics and didn't trust myself to mess with my brand new bike. The dealer gave me 20% off the labour and did an awesome job.

I added fog lights, SKENE P3 with turn signals module and new horns (dual pitch, high and low). The dealer suggested a fuse box due to all the power that will be pulled and they isolated the electrical circuit via the fuse box from the original BMW wiring. The did add all the wiring though to the original BMW spindal to keep it tidy.

They delivered the bike last night at 6pm so I was able to get our for a little over 30 minutes and I didn't want to return home. I love the sound, how solid it rides even on our crappy MA roads and it feels nimble. I took it very easy in the corners due to the brand new and slippery tires. Of course the rest of this weekend is rain so no riding for a few more days.

Here are a few lousy pics and some of the accessories. I'll take some real pics on a nice sunny day.

With a slight hint of envy, I can only wish you many happy miles in the years to come. Looks cracking.

Hi rokinrider,

The light came as a kit which I had to order from Germany. There were no distributers in the US. On the plus side, because I'm out of EU they dropped the EU taxes which reduced the price to around $200 and shipping was only via Fedex for $57. All in all great pricing.

The kit inludes all wiring, switch and the mounting brakets. The kit is made specifically for the R1200R and mounts right below the fuel tank.
