Hey Rob - just messing with you! ;)

Besides - it's good insurance to have your truck around, just in case. Hopefully, nothing as serious as Darthrider is facing!

Edited to add that my ride to Lewisburg is fortunately mostly backroad and mountain routes, so it won't be wasted! :)

Hey Vann, I'm riding up to Rosman (south of Asheville) on Thursday that week, to get a head start Friday morning. Staying with some MTN friends. I don't know what time you'll be leaving Friday, but if it works out I can probably get up early enough to meet and ride along with you from Asheville Friday morning.

Hey Phil - I'm glad you have a plan to make the Bash and I would gladly ride up with you but I am burning some of my excess vacation days to head up on Thursday! My plan is a meandering day of backroads to Lewisburg on Thursday, then meeting up with the other early arrivals for riding Friday.

Do you have a route to Lewisburg in mind for Friday? If you need any suggestions for getting there, shoot me a PM. There are some good roads over the mountains to get there - little slab riding required! Only about 6 or 7 hours from Asheville, even taking fun roads!

Cleaned up the bike a little, did an air pressure check, put the right maps in the tankbag and mounted the saddle bags. Pack up some clothes and shaving kit tomorrow and I am ready to roll to West Virginia!

Looks like a good weekend of weather too!

I'm at work right now you dorks! I have to wait til 3 this afternoon, but "Little Chubb" is tethered and hobbled in the parking lot with bags attached. I'm heading for Rosman, NC this evening and then to Lewisburg tomorrow morning. If any of you are traversing 219 in the early afternoon, you might see me and "Little Chubb" heading north.

wncbmw, DYZKZD, CTRider & son are here. The "Wednesday 6" (5 bikes) did a thrilling 298.4 mile ride today. Hundreds of really twisty curves with elevation changes typical of the mountain range. MotorCycle Heaven. STDocLizard1 and I are exhausted and still damp in places from the powerful 8 minute DOWNPOUR we rode thru at speed. Everyone got kinda soaked, my bike is a total mess, yet most of the riding gear dried out on the way back thru sunny places that received no rain at all. Several Dodge Charger police cars gave us the eye while they were on the move. Maybe the lack of loud noises from the bikes made us less guilty of exceeding the speed limit?

There's at least 13 bikes right outside our door after we returned from our late 9 pm supper. Time to shower and collapse into my queen sized bed. We'll meet up with the rest of the new arrivals in the morning and likely split into 2 groups . . . . then RIDE!

I got home in about 6 hours, then immediately left out to do some other things neglected this weekend.

First off, great time! It was good to see everyone and with the weather so good, West Virginia roads make for a wonderful day of riding - where ever you roam! Doc even found a road I had never been on!

Some other order of business that the Bash Master should have mentioned during Saturday nights awards. (someone should fire that guy! )

While special mention should be made of the Stamps scheduling their return to the States from China to ride with us ( I really enjoyed my day of riding with them), unless someone corrects me, I think Thad would have won the unofficial long distance award! Thad, chime in and tell us the mileage!

Also, I thought it was really cool to have two father/son teams at the Bash. Marty with Mike and Tom and Kevin! Has that ever happened before? My youngest is getting ready to enter the world of motorcycling, maybe one day we can make it three!

Once again, thanks to everyone for showing up and providing such entertaining company and competent riding companions!
