2 Jacks BMW Gone

Post by bluebeemerII »

My friend Tom and I took a summer tune up ride today. Pick 2 Jacks BMW in Wilkes Barre PA as the destination, hoping to check out the bikes and accessories. Great disappointment on arrival. For Sale sign on the property and show room cleaned out. If your traveling in North Eastern PA you will have to go further for parts and repair. Montgomeryville BMW is about 75 miles due south on Route 309 (the Northest Extension of the PA Turnpike is quicker) and Hermy's BMW is further west on Route 61.

Bummer. Hate to hear of a BMW dealer closing. Makes one wonder if it had something to do with BMW USA's treatment of their dealer network or some other reason?

How about their treatment of clubs that support the marque.

With the exception of Harley Davidson, single product motorcyle dealers are becoming more and more of a rarity.
There is not enough business with one brand to cover the operating costs.
We lost our local Suzuki dealer for the same reason. The local Honda/Yamaha dealer is surviving.
It's an issue across all motorcycle brands.
