Rolling Blackout!

Post by decimus »

I was riding home last night (fortunately only going about 35 mph) and my headlight went out. At first I thought the bulb blew, but after some jiggling (once on the roadside!) it came back on. Back home I opened up the Hi/Low beam assembly and sprayed some WD40 in there to drive off any moisture, and noticed that when I switched from Hi to Low beam the light briefly cut out. Like a two second black out, which would be pretty disconcerting riding down a dark highway.

Also, the pulse function (press/release to flash Hi beam) is jammed. Guessing the assembly is shot, but wondering if any of you have ideas.

Thanks!

I was having the same problem, my local tech took the assembly apart, cleaned it with contact cleaner & put it back together. It now works like a champ.
