Enjoying my new Sargent seat…

Post by R12RnHouston »

Went for the Premium Foam Conversion, low version, black welt. So far I’m very pleased.

That's purdy, looks comfy too. I like how your bike matches your jeep. ;)

Looks very nice. Did you get the seat heater option? Living in TX I'm guessing not. I was looking at this option as I live in the frozen north.

Sure! Here are a few more at different angles. The dish area, if widened, is barely noticeable (that was one thing I never liked about my BMS conversion… the tractor seat appearance; not knocking it, just wasn’t for me on this bike). Non-heated option, Scooterme, mostly due to living in TX.

Thanks Lost! Really enjoy my Jeep. To quote Kevin Spacey from the movie American Beauty… it’s “The car I've always wanted and now I have it!”

That is sweet, thanks for posting. I've been toying with RMS or BMS, but havent decided yet. I broke down and purchased an airhawk earlier this year after an 1800 mile ride to the VBR in Duluth, MN, made the trip home much more comfortable.

Looks great! Any comments from passengers? - How comfy? Do they still slide forward? etc.

Thanks for posting,

Steve.

No passenger or lengthy ride yet, but during my 30 or so minute commute over the past few days it’s all good (realizing the real test will have to wait for a lengthy span in the seat). My preferred riding position is sitting fairly close to the tank, and therein, absolutely no sliding forward. When I “scooted” all the way back during the ride to work this morning, yep… it wants to slide me forward.

Nice, I have been enjoying mine for about 20K miles. I find it little slippery.

Marcin, is your seat a standard height version? I'm looking to upgrade the seat on my R, and am looking for some feedback on a taller seat. I tried out the BMW touring seat yesterday, and it only moved the area of discomfort from my backside to my legs.

It's not a 1000 mile day seat, but way more confy than stock, and it looks good too :)

Gorgeous seat! The color inserts are a nice touch. How do you like that "mud-sling"? Worth the cost?

I would say mudsling is definitely worth the money. It keeps all the nasty stuff away from shock and keeps area in front of the wheel a lot cleaner. Very functional.

Wow guys it looks great!
I had had to upgrade my new 2013 R12R with an OEM lowest seat (27"); the standard coming with bike is 32" tall but does not fit my leg's length...so, I sold the original and bought from dealer the lowest version, how much the Sargent seat cost?

Have a nice ride!

That's built on your seat pan.. meaning you have to send the seat to them and they build it on your pan, plus you can't resell the old seat too easily.

Mine now has about 70,000 miles on it, and is holding up well. There is some minor fading of the vinyl, but it cleans up nicely, and no wear-through or rips or cracks (which Corbin's are known for..)
