Why lean forward so much?

Post by kissmydrums »

Anyone have any ideas how to not lean so forward that your arms get tired?

I just got a used r1100rt and love it except for having to lean so far forward. These bikes are listed as Sport Touring and I don't know how I could "tour" on this having to lean so much on my arms. Maybe I'm just used to the "cruiser" style.

Any help appreciated.

You can fit risers which are effectively just spacers that go between the yoke and the bars. The move the bars up and towards you slightly. I had an 1100RT for a while and fitted them to mine. They improved it, but it was still nowhere near as nice ergonimically as my 1100GS. I didn`t keep it for long
