swap shocks r1150 to r1100 possible?

Hey there. Im new. I have an 97 r1190r. The front shock works well but im wondering if it is possible fit a shock from an r1150. It looks like a better shock and some have dampening adjustment. If its possible this could be a good cheap upgrade.(only $40 us on ebay) Any input is appreciated.
