GPS mount

Post by Andrew s »

I'm looking for a GPS mount that fits onto the handlebar clamps on the top yoke, anybody know where I can get one, or the make.

You can probably get a RAM mount - pipe-clamp that should work.

Cheers Ricey, I did have a mount but sold it, think the one I'm after is a Touratech one.

I got a SW Motech mount from Twisted Throttle. The base mounts using the four bar clamp bolts. I'll take some pictures and upload them shortly.

Thanks for the photos, it is very similar to the one I had, which was fixed the same way but just had a round bar to fix the Satnav cradle.

What Satnav do you use with it?

I'm currently using my auto Garmin nuvi 1350 in the cradle. Not waterproof, but I just bring along a clear Zip-Lok bag to cover it. Worked well on a 3700-mile trip last spring on my F650GS. I've only used this mount on the Rockster a few times but I like how I can adjust the angle of the GPS unit for my dingle sight lines.

The mount slides into the raised 'U' on the base and locks securely. A plastic latch is then depressed to slide the mount out from the base. It has some internal dampening and the RAM ball also keeps it from vibrating.
