Hello From Oakville, Canada

Post by kamanje14 »

Hi Guys what a great site, the members here have answered many questions that i had about the purchase of 02 R1150R. Finally purchased it, black 43000 Km. and joined this site, as I will probably have more questions in the future. Looking forward to nice rides on a nice machine. Invite to any members who are ridding in this area (Southern Ontario) give me a heads up and can show you around plus (bbq, beverages).

Welcome. I'm sure you will enjoy your new ride. I bought an '03 with 43k miles a couple of months ago. Not a lot of opportunities to ride yet but I've been really pleased with it when I have. Easy to work on and, as you pointed out, loads of help from the forum.

Thanks Gents for the welcome, yes the community on here is fantastic as I have read many post on the 02 R1150R prior to my purchase. I was looking for a naked look, reliability, oilhead, a design that is a little different and what I've read nice on the twisty roads. Plus it can be dressed up and be a touring bike with very little effort. Only one minor change, i would like to switch to the Rockster bars for a little more forward lean and the rest stays original. Lots of snow right now in Southern Ontario, looking forward to the rides.

My wife is from Barrie; I am from Detroit. We live in Mexico where it never snows. Year around riding through some of the most gorgeous country you will see in North America. C'mon down next winter. We'll get you a bimmer to ride and a first class tour to go on. Meanwhile, you are going to love that bike. Congratulations and welcome!

Hey Mac, thank you for a fabulous invite, but I m going to do some riding north of Barrie just to get back into it again, as there are some beautiful routes up there and close to home.

Welcome aboard. Although I also have a K1200GT and a Ducati Diavel, I seem to grab the key to my black 2002 R1150R more often.
