I thought I'd pass along some findings on the Raven 009. I've been running them for the last 40,000. Started I guess the summer of 2013. I have typically gotten 12K+/- on all the front tires I've run, Michelin, Dunlops and Shinko. Generally 6-8K on rears. Just looked at my records because I'm ready for a rear. Currently have 11,300 on the 009 rear. I can safely get another 500 miles. Wear bars are starting to show.
I have lost my records prior to about 18 months ago. But I mounted a Raven rear last August with 70,400. I've 81,700 now. Both wet and dry handling is good. I'll qualify that by saying I'm not an extremely aggressive rider but I'm no slouch either. I push it a bit especially in twisties. Overall I'm impressed considering the very reasonable price. I've been paying $100 rear and $65 front (shipped) from Amazon.

Re: Tire topic -- Shinko Raven 009
thank you, tower.
Your mileage is very encouraging. Im quite impressed with my raven rear, think im close to 2000 miles?. handling is just fine, now just waiting to see how they last. even if its NO improvement from the Contis or Michies....at the cost, with no loss of ride quality, i see no reason not to buy them again. Also, very little visible wear, I know its early, but the contis were visibly worn by the time I got back from a 1100 mile round trip to MI.
120 and 80respectively...mounted and balanced. haven't done front yet, but its coming soon.

Re: Tire topic -- Shinko Raven 009
got close to 2K on my new set also.
blasting across west TX at 100MPH in the heat, shows no visible sign of wear other than the chicken strips finally wore off the front at 1500 miles.
i have run shinkos and kendas on my f650 with no bad experiences.
i will say that on the Fbike that wet traction deteriorates after they show signs of wear on the rear 705 model tires around 3500-4000 plus miles.
Cannot speak for the 009 raven personally

Got a hole in my rear last month and replaced it to be on the safe side. $88 shipped from Jake Wilson (which I had never come across until I went searching for these).
