Hello all,
I had a strange problem on my way to work this morning. My left turn signal did not work at all this morning. I get to work thinking a bulb was bad or something simple like that, but the bulbs are fine and when I turn the steering wheel all the way to the left it will work. So I guessing I have a broken wire somewhere. I don't have a schematic for my bike so can anyone point me in the right direction? Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Turn signal

Re: Turn signal
Very likely a broken wire in the bundle of wires that descend on the right side of the headstock. If they're still cable-tied to the headstock then it's probably too late.
I'd recommend changing the wiring looms that run past the headstock for new ones. IIRC there's only 1 or 2, but one of them is the ignition wiring loom and you do not want those wires failing (which they WILL*).
On Rock 3 I bought it with 1200 miles on the clock, cut the cable-ties at the headstock just after I bought it, and the wires in the ignition loom STILL broke 13 years and about 90,000 miles later.

Where do you recommend getting the looms that run past the headstock? I assume you mean to replace the wiring from the connectors under the tank going forward? Mine are pretty ratty and I would not mind replacing them at some point. Does that include the wiring that goes to the hand controls?
