Southwest US Heat

We're in the midst of a record setting stretch of temperatures of 110 F +, 43 C .
The oilhead needs premium fuel in these conditions, the last time I didn't fil up with premium fuel when it got this hot, when I need a handful of throttle to merge into highway traffic, all I got was a handful of detonation !!
Tires stick like velcro !!
Road surface temperature on old asphalt at 1700 usually runs around 175 F, 80 C .
Fresh asphalt runs 195-205 F, 91 to 96 C .
But at least it's a 'dry heat' !!
