K1200R seat is killing me

Post by leoist »

Anybody do anything to replace the stock K1200R seat? I went on a 130 mile drive yesterday and couldn't do more than 50 miles without stopping. The seat is killing me.

Was hoping to make the drive to the RA rally in Asheville next month, an 850 mile trip for me (each way). No way I'd be able to do it on this seat.

I have the same problem so I kept my R for close in fast riding and bought an RT for long distance travel. Best of both worlds IMHO.

Hello leo, I share your despair. Actually BMW should deliver the bike without seat and windscreen. It is pity for such great bike to have such low quality seat. I am looking in the internet for a good company which can help me to change the seat of my R1150R with a better one.
Regards
Robert

Try AlaskaLeather.com, they sell sheepskins, that will make a world of difference for cheap. Like $40 cheap.

I second the AlaskaLeather, best upgrade I have made. The real long term solution is a new Russell saddle.
