Well, if there are rumors about me hosting something in Texas...........
they are exorbitantly fallacious (I just love this pocket vocabulary bulider. Soon I'll master the English language and sound like a real BMW owner! )

I have a feeling the 2008 Bash will be even further from Texas than the last Bash was. That's fine. I'm giving up on attending a Bash and I'm opting for private, "by invitation only" small and quaint sophisticated gatherings of people from the r1150r.net board!!

C'mon DJ - You talking about the bikes or the riders (being big fat pigs)? I'm trying to lose weight damn you. Now you've got me all upset - I think I'll have a beer and pie and feel happy again! (Actually - I've dropped 10kg since Christmas and my bike loves me for it!).

2008 Bash - Now maybe we Aussies should have a gathering. Somewhere obscure, but 'central' to the east coast. Everything's central for me, so think of somewhere DJ.

Hillston? Menindee? GypsyRR can help with the badge design. Flying roos? Nah. Been done. I'll have a think. I've got some ideas forming already.

Might be nice to have a 'worldwide' Bash, even if it is in different countries.

That's it - An International Year of The Beak! Worldwide gatherings of Beaksters. Damn I'm good.

MIXR,

We've been planning an Australia Bash to be held at DJ's house. However, we haven't been getting anywhere lining up a volunteer pilot with a plane big enough for 20-30 riders and motorcycles.

Bugger - If I was still in the Air Force I might have been able to swing a C130 'training flight' to the States and pick everyone up!

Maybe not - I was a maintenance engineer and didn't have that much pull with the Commanding Officer! Nice thought though.

Problem with DJ's place is that Melbourne isn't exactly 'central'. We would need to cater for Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne, and a few points in between. Maybe plot a set of converging lines and see where we end up.

Might be just DJ and me. We could meet up anywhere! Anyway, 2008 is a long way off.

Gypsy, consider this a private invitation to join our next small and quaint mid-west gathering. We may try to hit North Eastern WI, including the Door County area in Sept. and then come back south along Lake Michigan.

This is probably just as far away or farther then the 07 Bash was for you, but hey we are small and quaint! Did you notice I left sophisticated out?

Seriously though, if you're ever up this way, please let us know!

Scott,

Where will the 2008 East Coast Bash be held? What are the average high and low temperatures there for the 3rd week of May?

I'm in.

Thanks in advance for putting it together. Let me know when I need to contribute for my reservation.

Well, I can't let the cat, err, map, out of the bag yet...

But average temps will be no colder than anyplace else near/around the mason-dixon.

I like cooler weather anyhow.

I'm ascertaining the logistics as we speak. Learning where the LEOs least like to hang out, etc. etc.

Once I have the place, I'll post a message for a vote on the week.

funny, i was going to suggest scotia or newfie...that would be great!

BUT, late may would definitely be cool there!

plus, it seems many of the members of the board don't like to go further than a hundred miles or so... :?

that is, except for those who made Bash IV!!! :P

Scott,

Nova Scotia?
Newfoundland?
Key West?

This is why there is no voting. Just use your newfound Bash skills and pick a place. We'll be there.

Watch out, Scott! Mac is using subliminal mind tricks on you!!! He used (TEXAS) the word "newfound" just to (TEXAS) put Newfoundland (TEXAS) on your mind. Watch 'em all. They are sneaky!!! Subliminal methods like that will leave you (TEXAS) feeling aLONE, STARing at the ceiling for (TEXAS) answers!

John, I wouldn't have minded the snow had my SECOND pair of boots not been soaked through!

living in ny you get used to snow!

Gypsy, maybe the members of this board including you would travel more than one tank of gas to get to a bash! :P

I just had a thought. Why doesn't someone plan a Texas/Arkansas Bash? It could be called the Barefoot Bash.

BASH o8

Post by whaycoc »

scottybooj,

Any idea what month the 08 BASH might be in? I really enjoyed the first BASH and hoping to get back into things now that I'm somewhat settled down after a year long "time out" to build a new home and move.

I have read the entire thread here and still don't have a clue what is in mind for the location. Anything coming together yet?
