Civil War Tour

Post by sjbmw »

Spent 2 days on a Civil War tour. What a great weekend for riding.
Harper's Ferry WV, Antietam Battlefield Sharpsburg MD, Gettysburg Battlefield in PA. rode the back roads home through Amish country. (pictures of the Amish are verboten)

My buddies pack Big Iron.

Death row at Antietam, from the 4 story tower. 23,000 killed and wounded in one day, almost 2000 per hour, the wind sounds different up here.

Thank you Herb.

Of all of the "great ride" posts, this is only one that sent chills down my spine and made all my hair stand on end.
I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...

Fun stuff! I showed this to a friend of mine who does Civil War reenactments and he easily recognized all these sites.

Good job, Herb!

Good report. Reminds me of the Return to Shiloh Rally.

I can spend hours in those old battlefields.

Great pics, great report, and very moving....

Seeing your buddy's Valkyrie brought back some great memories for me. I've owned two - an Interstate and a Tourer.

Thanks for posting :D
