Our Grandson had his 2nd birthday party last weekend so we went down to make sure he was OK.
Packed up & ready to go;
Ready for our first 300 mile day;
First rest stop & I realize I don't have enough tread left to get down & back safely;
During lunch @ Skeeters Pit BBQ, Shamokin Dam PA, I connect w/ a place near enough that can put one on;
New tire;
Very cool graphics on a customers RT;
Good guys at this place;
Arrival; definitely worth the trip
Sunday morning & heading back home;
Some things are just more interesting than motorcycles;
New ones for MLW from Hermy's (one of the benefits of having it done at a shop; lot's of time to 'shop';
A little local history;
Thought these trees were cool the way they lined the road;
This place was really cool;
I turn around & MLW is talking to someone on the dock;
"Want to go accross?"
"How much?"
"....you, .....her, ....the bike; that'll be five dollars...."
"Can I put my bike on there?"
"Yeah, just ride it right on here."
"Oh, I thought that was a dock."
"Nope, goes with us."
We made it up to Williamsport for lunch, at the worlds best grocery store.
Happened to have 10 or 12 tour buses of foreigners that day;
I made the rack up the night before we left; a little crude & suffering from the rust blooms from finishing media I used; 0.25 OD .030 wall stainless tubing from McMaster Carr & some scraps of .030 sheet I had; just right for tying down the duffel bag.
Can't wait for the next trip;
Regards,
DLS

Nice trip, and photos. And thanks for the rack idea, I think I just bought some similar tubing from Mcmaster Carr for a project at work, have to see if any extra.

Hey DJ, I was wondering how you've been doing?
I haven't come across any of your posts lately & was hoping all was OK.
What is Aussie winter like?

Re: NY / PA Birthday Trip
Cold, wet and windy these last few days...but overall not too bad..Our Winter ends in a few weeks.
I've been getting out on the water every chance I can doing SUP..and taking pics for anyone who's interested.. http://www.standupzone.com/forum/index.php?topic=1773.0
So I've not been out on the bike as much as normal lately..I do hope to get out soon and do another 'Great Ride'..
